Where can I find good clothes for student teaching? Somewhere relatively inexpensive since I’ll be living off student loans for a while but also good quality that will last me? For my observation hours I wore knee length dresses from Old Navy and sweaters from H&M every day.

I don’t know what’s near you, nor do I know what type of school environment you’re in.

I have always worked in smaller schools (where the majority of the students are at or below the poverty line) and teacher clothing is pretty casual.  As a student teacher, I was told to dress professionally on the first day, take a look at what everyone else wears, and then to dress one step above everyone else.

You can usually find some nice professional clothing at thrift stores.  A lot of people donate items that have never or have barely been worn.  You can also ask the teachers you work with for what good stores are near you.
