Hey, I’ve just started my A-levels, & my English Lit teacher (who also taught me for the past 2 yrs) recently mentioned what he wrote his degree dissertation on. It sounded really interesting & I’ve thought about it a lot since. I was wondering if it’s okay for me to ask to read it? I don’t know if he’d even have a way to give it to me or if he’d be allowed though. I’m fairly close to him & I think we get on (book swapping, film recombinations, etc), but I don’t know how I’d go about asking him?

Teaching in Real Life

I think it would be appropriate.  He always has the right to say no.  You could tell him that you are interested in his topic and maybe pursuing something similar in school, and that you would like to see what his thoughts are in more detail.
