I always encourage students to do their best and we collaborate on what is best for them, while also still challenging them slightly. There’s no learning or improvement without a challenge. I have found in these instances that some students rise to the challenge, or even surpass it.
Teachers at my school have also met with former students who have had anxiety who have given feedback that they wish they had been more challenged with presentations, because now they are forced to do them at work and have no preparation skills, and do not know how to deal with their anxiety in those situations when their job is on the line.
