Hi there! I am a new teacher, sometimes students send me friend requests on facebook, I find it strange to add my students there but I have noticed many fellow teachers doing it. Or once I called a parent due to an emergency and their son(my student) got my number from their phone and started texting me and calling me at odd hours. I tried talking and discouraging him, even calling his parents again to tell them what their son was doing yet nothing helped. How do you handle something like this?

This should NOT happen!  There are boundaries.  I’ve taught in alternative, high-risk environments before where I have given my number out, but it comes with a warning of how it is to be used.  Students appreciate the gesture and do not abuse it.  This situation needs to go above you; the school needs to handle it, as you used your personal device to handle a school situation, and now it is working against you.
