I study like crazy for all my exams and quizzes, but I always come up short or don’t do as well as I was hoping; my best friend aces them without so much as glancing over their notes. Should I even bother studying anymore?

Always try your best and study.  Sometimes people just aren’t as good in certain areas of academics, like projects vs. tests.  You could ask your teachers for some specific suggestions on studying for their specific tests or for some extra help.

Ummm i dont really know who else to ask about this but, yeah my teacher is fond of group projects (which are the worst omg). Group projects are already bad, but I believe its worse for my friend. She suffers from depression, and has times where she doesnt have any motivation to do stuff. Her grades are slipping, but she also gets flack from her groupmates because she doesnt do much work. How should a teacher, or even a peer help in this situation?

Group work is necessary sometimes, because you need to practice collaboration since it is key in the workforce.  However, independent work should also be part of the course.  If your friend doesn’t feel comfortable speaking up, you could talk to the teacher about your friend’s situation to try to see if alternative arrangements could be made.  Hopefully your friend is also receiving some other help.
