Hello! I’m a fellow teacher here on Tumblr and I was wondering if any students have had a crush on you or, if you have ever had a crush on one? This seems to be a reoccurring problem in my school and I wanted to see if any fellow teachers have experienced the same.

I have not had this experience, and I truly hope it does not happen.

I get too many questions about it, however, from students.  I can appreciate where the crush comes from, but I see how it can go way too far.

I personally like @iwasyourteacher’s responses to the teacher crush community:

Are there any blogs that talk about teaching with mental illnesses? I’m a teacher in training and I’m finding it really hard to manage my depression with all the extra work. Its just so difficult, Is there anyone out there doing it?

I don’t know any specific blogs, but I know of a lot of other teaching blogs out there that talk about it.

Go ahead and discuss in the notes, education friends! 🙂

AND I do know personally know teachers who have mental illnesses, and who work through it to teach children.  It’s a challenge, but there are good supports out there for teachers and for students.  You can do it!

What is like for teachers during finals week? Do they get as stressed as the kids do?

YES

SO BUSY.

We are worried about all of our deadlines (marking exams/late assignments that we shouldn’t be accepting in the first place, but we are; report cards; student success profiles; student success meetings; cleaning up our classrooms and more) AND we are worried about the students, because we understand that exams are stressful, but we all work through it together.
