I’m excited about the summer and I would like to know if teachers are too. I know you work during the summer but are you excited like the students are?
Of course I get excited about summer! And this is the first summer I didn’t do any work at all! Woohoo! But now that summer is ending, I am sad. I love my job, but summer is fun and we all need a break.

Hey, question for you: How do you handle the kids in your class that are far smarter than the others in your class, to the point where they’ve already finished the assignment and may or may not be bothering other kids? I know when I was growing up, my teachers would let me read quietly as long as I finished the assignment.
Doing anything quietly works. Usually we also have a big project due at the end of the semester that is assigned at the beginning they could work on too.
