To have more of a response, it would probably be best to send your letters and the petition to your MPP (Member of Provincial Parliament). You can definitely still send letters to Doug Ford, and Minister for Education, Lisa Thompson, but the mass of letters should go to your MPP since it is their constituents (citizens) who are unhappy, and their constituency (region) that is being negatively affected. Specifically ask your MPP for a response and for them to send the letters on to the Education Minister and Premier. With the petition about not cutting your teachers, explain why these teachers are a benefit for the students of the school, not just that teachers are losing their jobs (the government doesn’t care about that).
Also check out the #studentssayno Instagram page – those student organizers are doing a lot of great work to unite students across Ontario and have ideas on how to take action.
Your voices matter! We are fighting against these policies for you! Keep up the awesome work!
