I think so. I don’t do it extensively, but sometimes I worry about some of them, other times I think they’ll do great things.
I always tell students that I’d love to hear from them in the future, and I truly mean it.

Talk with your parents about the fact that it is YOUR life, not theirs. If they are paying for your education, maybe you’ll need loans if they don’t support your goal.
If you are interested in becoming a business teacher, a business degree might help and then you can take your BEd afterwards. I’m not sure about other parts of Canada, but in Ontario you need a 3 or 4 year degree and then a 2 year BEd degree.
Look into schools in your area and see what they require. Good luck!

I was unaware you have met every single teacher to know that they all do this. While I have met a few teachers that don’t like to hear about students’ issues outside of school, the majority I know are very supportive and understanding, and those who are not are forced to be more flexible by administrators.
If you are having an issue with your teachers, speak to them privately about your concerns. If that doesn’t work, try talking with a guidance counsellor or administrator. Hope you can get some support.

I would feel glad that we have made a connection where the student feels comfortable sharing with me. I would listen to them and try to help them where I could for whatever they tell me.

I wanted to screenshot all of the questions I get, but they make me so disgusted and mad that I immediately delete them.
