hi!! i’m working on applying to teaching programs (master’s, because i didn’t major in education in undergrad) and I’m still having trouble deciding whether I want an elementary or secondary program. I think grades 4 and up would be good for me, because I’m not super “nurturing,” but high school might be too old because i’m not as passionate about my content specialty (English) as I am about education in general. How did you choose a grade level?? Thanks!

Where I’m from, there are 3 levels to choose from: Primary/Junior (K-6), Junior/Intermediate (4-10), or Intermediate/Senior (7-10).  I knew I did not want to be anywhere near children and enjoyed my subjects so I went for I/S.  I did volunteer work/summer jobs in schools and realized how the young children are NOT FOR ME AT ALL.

Good luck!

Hi I sit next to a quite obnoxious immature classmate and I can’t stand her anymore ! I’m unsure if it’s because I’m 2 years older than her but it’s driving me mad. We have unassigned seats but seems like everyone has chosen “their seat. I’ve asked a teacher to change places because I couldn’t “see” well but she didn’t do much… Should I tell her the truth ?

Always be honest.  If it’s inhibiting your focus/learning then it’s a problem.
