I take into consideration stress levels, which is why every assignment I give can always be finished during class time. Homework is only required if absent or if students do not use their time wisely. I can understand that not every teacher does this, but students also need to discuss their own concerns with their teacher.
ask
Do you ever think about the fact that the one homework assignment, or project, or essay, or paper could be the one assignment that pushes some kid over the edge into an anxiety attack?

So, I have a huge crush on my chemistry teacher. And I know it’s ridiculous and hopeless, but I still can’t get him out of my head. Help?
I currently have a lot (and I mean A LOT) of questions about this, so here is an answer to all of them:
I will not ever have feelings for a student, even if they turn of age. NO.

Do you ever think ‘wow that student is really pretty’ or does being a teacher block those student related thoughts? 😛
We aren’t blind – we clearly notice others’ appearances, but feelings do not go along with our observations.

Hi! I just really wanted to get the perspective of a teacher on this so hear goes. For an assignment we write these blog entries about China and I got a bit carried away and I made one a love story. I include all the information needed and I’m really proud of the story but they kiss at the end. Just wanted you’re opinion as a teacher if it would be awkward reading that. Love your blog!
That would be AWESOME! What a creative way to demonstrate your understanding. Good for you! 🙂

First off, I love your blog. Second of all any tips for a student teacher going to a high school for her filed experience. What are some things you wear as a teacher? I know I can’t wear sweats and leggings as a student teacher but what else?
Good luck in your practicum! Be yourself and show that you care about kids.
How you dress depends on the school you work in. I have typically worked in smaller schools with students from farming families and students from lower socio-economic homes, so I tend to not dress too fancy. I still dress professionally, but there are many ways you can make jeans and leggings (as long as you have a longer shirt) look professional, whether it’s with boots, a (not too fancy) blazer, etc. See what the other teachers are wearing and try to be one above that (as a student teacher) and still follow your own style.
Good luck! 🙂
