Do teachers really not over hear conversations? I remember in 8th grade there was always this kid that talked about anal & always used the n word (even though he was white) but never got caught.

It depends.  Sometimes teachers choose to ignore conversations, other times they really do not hear, or they do listen and do something about it.  It’s unfortunate that the student you discussed got away with those actions.  In order for teachers to be aware of everything in the classroom, they do rely on the assistance of others, so if one is offended by another student’s language or actions, one needs to speak up.

What would you do if you saw a student who’s harming himself? Sorry for the bad english, I am from Germany haha)

This is difficult to answer right on, because it depends on the entire situation, as to my relationship with the student, etc.  I would try to talk with them privately about how things are going and if they would like to talk.  I may direct them to a guidance counsellor who is better trained than I to discuss mental health more specifically, but I would try to offer as much help as I could.

[You wrote the sentence perfectly, by the way, except English should have a capital :)]

Hi ! I’m a student and I’ve met many professors and it’s always interesting to see how much they can be different ! I’ve been close to some teachers and I wonder if teachers can really feel love/affection for some students. I really like my French Teacher for example and I wonder if I can be a friend with him instead of a simple student. It’s my last year in my High school and I’m afraid to lose him. Thanks !

You can stay in touch every once in awhile for a couple of years after graduation, but friendship needs to wait.  Sometimes this is unfortunate, but it goes with the nature of the job.
