When I try to motivate students to work hard and go after their passions

Whenever I start talking to my class
When students like teacher jokes
When busses are cancelled due to bad weather, but schools are open for “learning”
The school board is like:
When I finally convince a student to do some work
When students ask me why I don’t care about their drama
When I’ve been avoiding the principal and he finds me
When a student describes what they think their future will be like when they don’t put any effort into anything
When I clean and re-organize my classroom and am asked for specific paperwork
