Hi! Since you seem nice enough to help others with their troubles I was wondering if you knew how I could talk to my teacher about how their sarcastic/sassy responses and such make me feel really dumb and insecure about asking questions? I know it’s their personality and usually it makes for a funny and entertaining class (& they do answer the q’s)but stress makes me very emotional and I almost started crying bc the students laughed, too? Maybe I just need to let it go and grow tougher skin idk

I’m sorry you’re feeling that way.  Sometimes we need to give ourselves a pep talk about how we are feeling, since you seem to understand your teachers’ personality, but you also don’t want to be feeling this way.  I would ask to have a private meeting with your teacher where you explain how you’re feeling and how you do not appreciate it.  You don’t have to be rude, just state the facts about how you’re feeling and the teacher should understand.  Good luck.  And you are definitely not dumb for asking questions.  Everyone else is making poor choices in their education for NOT asking questions.

Hello! I want to be a high school spanish teacher, but I think I’m just going to get my undergrad in Spanish. Then I think I want to get a Masters in Foreign Language Education (Spanish), but do you think also getting a certificate to teach English as a Second Language would make me more marketable? Or less because they would have to pay me more for having a masters and an additional certificate? Thanks!

More qualifications can always assist you in getting and maintaining a job, as well as develop you professionally.  It sounds like you are not where I’m from, so you would have to look more specifically into your area to see exactly how hiring practices and salaries work.  Good luck!
