I completely understand that. But when they are running around my classroom doing ridiculous things or telling inappropriate stories to their friends that everyone else can clearly hear when I give five days in class to work on something, that is what I call wasting their time.

you can’t possibly know that students have wasted their time though, maybe be a bit more sensitive to what people are going through :) students go through a lot that they wouldn’t ever tell you.

I’m going into high school next year, and I don’t know which school to go to. On one hand is the school I’ve went to every day since first grade, it’s a comfortable environment but it isn’t as great education wise as the school that has specialized courses in the field I want to go in. What do you recommend I do?
Only you can answer this question. We only gain confidence by doing, and life can get pretty boring doing the same thing all the time. We need to try new things, but you need to decide what is best for you.

Can you make a basic (or not basic, learning and understanding information is fun) master list of the rules of writing and speech? Including the short examples of when and when not to use certain rules? (this is super vague, and you probably don’t want to teach after school hours, especially when you’re not required to, but if you could, this would be a HUGE help)

Today was the last day of first-semester finals. Grades were due by 12:30 PM. One of my bright, charming students looked up at me as I’m passing out the tests, and said “We can turn our study guides in on Monday, right?” I may or may not have laughed in her face before I could stop myself.
Hahaha, right!!??

Do you ever “ship” students together? Do you know any teachers that do? One of my teachers always tells us stories about his past students that he thought would make good couples that ended up dating later on. I’m pretty sure that he ships me with one of my good friends, and it seems really weird to me. I feel kind of bad because he is really nice and probably has good intentions, but the whole situations just seems…weird. Is it just me, or is this normal for teachers? What should I do?
Tell your teacher you feel uncomfortable with it and wish to not hear those type of stories.
This is not normal. It’s gross. Teachers should not be that interested in students’ lives.
