There is a teacher that has helped me through thick and thin and inspired me so much and I want to make her a card or something like that telling her how much I appreciate her but, would that come off wrong, as I am the opposite sex? And student teacher relationships are really big at my school but, would she appreciate it if I did? Love your blog btw it’s amazing

I don’t think that’s wrong at all to give a thank you card.  It just shows that you appreciate them and want them to know about it.

What are some tips for doing better on essays? I tend to struggle with sticking to the point.

If your teacher isn’t giving you organizers to plan your essay, look online for some essay organizers to plan your ideas.  Be specific with your arguments and incorporate clear evidence (examples) that you explain.  I tend to have my students stick to one specific example for a body paragraph and be specific in analyzing how it supports your opinion.

Hellooo. I’m a student and I have this problem, I think that teachers think I’m rude with them and that I don’t care about school. I do, I work and I have good grades. It’s just that I’m serious and I don’t like to participate, but I’m not trying to be mean, how can I change that?

You could try to set goals for yourself throughout the semester.  Perhaps you can start with participating in partner work, then group work and then gradually sharing one thought a week with the whole class, etc.  Talk to your teacher privately about your concerns and ask for some assistance in working through.

I’m going into my 3rd year of my ECE program and am about to start my Preschool Practicum. I am so nervous all of a sudden that I want to vomit. I feel so unprepared and I feel like I’ve forgotten everything I’ve learned. We’ve only done observations so far and have had zero classroom responsibility. What can I do to make this seem less daunting? Any advice in general about getting through the last 2 years of the program?

You can do it!  Teaching is a hands-on job, you will learn with time.  The only thing you need is passion for helping kids and everything else will fall into place.
