It is up to her. You’re taking the subject for the wrong reasons if it is just to have her as a teacher. It is also putting her in an awkward position because she is set to retire based on what is best for her. If you like this subject and consider it beneficial, then it will not matter whether it is her teaching it or not. It may be helpful, but there are other good teachers.

Yo so I have this wonderful teacher who might be retiring this year. I’m talented at her subject and she is determined I will take it up for A-Level. I told her I wouldn’t take it up unless she stayed (if she stayed she WOULD be my teacher). She told me ‘maybe I’ll stay just for you’. I don’t know if she would be serious but she said the same thing to my parents and she told them that ‘we click’ and that ‘we gel’. As a teacher yourself do you think she would actually consider staying? Thanks :)

So I’m currently at a really small high school (about 280 kids) and I am thinking of switching to a bigger school. But I’m wondering if small schools or big schools are better to go to. If you could help me out that would be great. Thanks :)
This is all about perspective and what you prefer. I attended a large school, but have only worked in small schools. Would you prefer more course selection in order to help you in the future? If so, a bigger school might be a better option. Would you prefer more opportunities for extra-curricular activities and sports? If so, your smaller school would be a better option. If you have a school in mind, see what they have to offer and reflect on it.

In hs, I was mad at my teacher and wrote about how wronged I was to my boyfriend on myspace. The next day, she called me to her desk and hinted that she saw my page and said teachers go online to check on their students and to watch what I say.
That is ridiculous. Teachers are meant to teach their students about security and privacy to be safe online, but that is extreme.
Clearly, if your profile is open for your teacher to find you, it also means anyone can see your posts, so it is also a lesson in privacy because things you post on the internet can come back to haunt you. It is still extreme what happened, but utilize privacy settings.

You remind me so much of my AP history teacher! As a student, I love hearing your “thoughts” about class, school and life in general. love this blog!
Maybe I AM your teacher!

Ha, no, I’m not. I am not teaching history right now, nor does my area offer AP courses. You’re safe!
Thanks for your comments 🙂
