Hey I just had a question about kiss ass students or teacher’s pets or like teacher favorites. I mean, how do you feel about them lol
They are individual people.
I want to give a thank you card to one of my teachers that pretty much doesn’t know I exist. Is it okay if I can somehow give it to her anonymously ? My only intention is to make her feel appreciated.
How would your own teacher not know you exist? I’m sure she does, sometimes classrooms are just busy places. You could ask the office to put a thank you card in her mailbox.

Any advice for a first year teacher?
You’re awesome!
Here is a link to an old post (that links to other old posts) regarding advice: http://teachinginreallife.tumblr.com/post/130878880293/hi-im-starting-a-long-term-subbing-position#notes
Good luck!

Hi! I´m a freshman in high school, I really respect your blog and the meaningful advice and funny memes on it :). I was wondering if I could ask you for some advice. My dad is very strict and protective of me and I am not aloud to go to parties or date. I am never invited to things because everyone knows my dads strict policies. Any words of wisdom? or do you think it is smart of me to stay sheltered?
Your dad is being protective, which is normal. You can always try to express your feelings to him and be open with him about what activity you’d like to do. You also need to respect that there are certain rules in the house. Try to have an open and honest conversation. Good luck.

Hello! I’m an English Education major, and I’m not sure what grades I’d like to teach yet. Ill be certified in secondary, but I’m stuck between middle and high school. I’m not sure if you’ve ever taught middle school or know anyone who has, but if so, can you just let me know how the classroom management worked in the middle school classroom? PS. I LOVE your blog! Hilarious :)
I have never been in a middle school; my region has elementary schools (K-8) and high schools (9-12). I did a teaching placement in a grade 8 classroom, and classroom management was a bit easier than high school due to the fact that students were still in the school of their younger days where certain expectations are in place, they are with one teacher all day long and stay in the same room all day.
You always just need to be yourself, and update your strategies for whatever class you have. I don’t have one specific method for every class I teach.
