Hey i was wondering if you would give advice to a student? I’m super close with my teacher and need some perspective, i promise it’s not questions about a stupid crush or anything!!

It’s really weird Because there’s a teacher that knows about my self harm. I’m nervous that she told the other teachers and I don’t want to be treated differently because of it. Advice?
I would hope you wouldn’t be treated differently, but that they are working together to help you both personally and academically.

Is it an ethical or moral decision that some teachers choose not to share their opinions with students?
I suppose it depends what the topic is for not sharing opinions, but I consider it an ethical decision to not share my opinion on politics, religion, etc. Â Students can be easily influenced, and I want to share the facts so they can make up their own opinions.

Is it ok to be friends with a teacher, no romance at all just like friendship like how im friends with people from my grade? Like would it be weird to talk about the kind of stuff i talk to my friends? I really dont know how to ask this question haha but that teacher is really cool and since my desk is right in front of his and that i see him like everyday cause i need extra help for that subject, we get time to just chill and talk
Yes, this is fine.  It’s always okay to have regular conversations.

Since i’m new to your blog I was wondering if you were a male teacher or not. Does the gender seem to make a difference for students? Like are students more obedient to male teachers?
In my experience, it depends on the group of students and the location of the school. Â Some male students in smaller schools and communities respond better to male teachers, but it is usually pretty split.
