If a student is diagnosed with a doctors note with social anxiety or generalised anxiety would teachers still have the student present presentations and read out loud?

It depends.  With English class, one quarter of the curriculum is based on oral communication so I could not exempt a student completely for that.  Usually what I would do is give a student an opportunity to present in front of a small audience of people of their own choosing.  I give every student the chance to pass when I ask them to read aloud.

Hi, first things first I love this page. Also, this is just me saying a thank you to all teachers out there because I know how much work you put in and I appreciate it every lesson of the day. I want to BE a teacher myself too. My question is this- Why is it seen as a bad thing to care about your teachers. Like if I hear one of my teachers cried, I feel bad for them, but apparently that’s not ok?I don’t get that at all. When teachers leave as well, apparently it’s not okay to be upset about it😒

Thanks for your nice comments!

I think it is fine to show you care – caring goes both ways between teacher and student.  If there are concerns at your school, talk to someone to ask some questions about this.

My teacher is making us do a research paper, but the directions are really vague “find a topic in history (600 BC.- present) to do research on and write a thesis on.” That’s pretty much all of history. I can’t think of any topics, do you have any suggestions? It could litterly be anything.

Have you asked your teacher for any other assistance?  They would be the ones who can tell you what they want out of it.

If not, you need to pick something you’re interested in or passionate about, otherwise you won’t want to do the assignment.  Be specific with a time period and focus of topic.

Good luck.

My Teacher likes to make us read 20-30 pages in class and then re-read the pages and do a 4 page essay on what we just read *every single night* do you have any idea on how to get this done and still do extra stuff like Sports,Theater,Clubs etc

It can be difficult to manage one’s time in everything.  The best way I find to do it is through scheduling hours for work and extracurriculars.  That does seem like a lot of work, but you can get through it with hard work and time management.

I answered a similar question about time management here: http://teachinginreallife.tumblr.com/post/81333137294/ive-had-this-a-few-times-the-teacher-rushes-to#notes
